Everett L. Dorr was a Veteran who served his Country in  Vietnam , and later in his life became a Charter Member
of Hancock Memorial Post 207. He was a very vital member of this Post. If there was anything that needed to be
done . He was always one of the first to arrive. Whether it was working at the Legions bingo nights, and other
functions , or just having fun playing bingo at the Auxiliary bingos. On April 16, 2002 , tragedy struck and Everett
and his wife Peggy,(Auxiliary Member) were both killed in an automobile accident in Florida. This left a huge hole in the
community and in the hearts of every one here at the Post. We hosted a touching Memorial for the Dorr's at the
Post, with a standing room only crowd. In trying to find a way to pay tribute to Everett,We came up with the idea for the
Bingo Players Memorial. Now His photo, name and the name of all our lost bingo players are etched on a plaque that is
on permanent display. This project was a joint effort of the Legion and Auxiliary. Everett will remain forever in our
minds and always in our hearts.
